Our take on an Indonesian sambal. This chili paste takes all of the best parts of our favorite sambal variants and combines them into a perfectly umami, spicy, fragrant, slightly sweet, slightly tangy and bitter blend of amazingness. “Hebat” means “amazing” in Indonesian and we mean business with this sambal. Use it as a relish, a condiment, a sauce, a base or an enhancer. Eat it with meat, over rice, stir fried or with a spoon.

Named for my first generation, Los Angeles born Indo father, this hot sauce is a play on Louisiana style sauces with a distinct kick of Indonesian influence. This sauce is distinctly fruity and bright without being too spicy. Pairs great with anything fried or heavy in fats and oils. Fully vegan!
